I was expecting a lil more of a red color.
I thought it was a lil more hoppy compared to other reds... Nice caramel sweet start with a dry hop finish.
I like this.

I was expecting a Red Beer..... go figure. This beer, another offering from the Rahr Brewery in Fort Worth is also worth the effort! It’s a well balanced beer with nice caramel undertones balanced by spicy hops. Again, a very dry beer - perfect for the Texas heat. A nice head stayed during the entire tasting - which didn’t take very long. Again, a strong beer from Fort Worth, TX! Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Strong malt aroma, maybe a little over the top, but inviting nevertheless. Smooth palate, very little decernable hop character. kidmartinek (986), austin, Texas, USA

A good pour, has a strong 1 inch thick and frothy off white head. Clear to see through and not many bubbles. Aroma of good malt, yeast and dough. Has that bready doughy taste like but its good. Reminds me of Fat Tire, but better. Rahr Red has a nice hop character. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Well behaved finish. Decent carbonation and bite, and I don’t think it’s artificial. This is a good beer. Should be enjoyed by more people. Cavie (1439), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2009 On tap at the BALLPARK!!!! Ok so this beer is only available at the Ballpark in Arlington, and it is not the same as the Rahr red or the buffalo butt, contrary to what the stupid beer salesmen might say. It is VERY dark for a premium lager, but that’s better than most. Dark brown. Little aroma. Highly roasted taste. Roasted caramel and burnt nuts. Very dark for a lager, yet highly enjoyable. I prefer this over any of the macro lights that they offer at the park, especially if I’m gonna pay 8.50 for one beer! BTW, FIRST TO RATE!!! Earlier Rating: 2/9/2008 Total Score: 3.1 This beer had a medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, long finish, a nutty flavour. It was rather woody, amber colored with a hint of orange but very clear. When poured, it left a white foam. I would characterize this as medium sweet, very bitter, but lightly sour beer.
