garthicus (1215), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 4, 2009 Thanks to Blutt59. Appearance: Ever so slightly hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma: Slight spice, wet cardboard, lemons, pepper, malt. Flavour: Agghhhh - the initially sweaty flavour made me shudder, bitter, lemon, chemicals of some sort, paper and leather. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 13, 2009 Updated: Sep 19, 2009I still need to have the 2009 brew as I was unimpressed with Stormcloud before. Not enough hops and a strange aftertaste.
*Not much of a change from the <2008 Stormcloud. A little thicker than I remember exchanged for a little less taste but more hops. I can’t decide which is better. bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Sep 6, 2009 Another ericandersnavy production. Pours light copper with a fluffy white head of large bubbles. Aromas of lightly roasted malt and spicey/grassy hop. Medium body with loosely frothy carbonation. Flavor is kind of like a bready hoppy pilsner. The grassiness renders it slightly astringent. Sort of demonstrates how beer styles can move together. Finishes bitter, and really enjoyable. Not a NW hop bomb, but it’s bitterly bitter, and that is what counts. drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 4, 2009 12oz bottle from Cavie poured into a pint glass. Pours hazy orange with a medium off-white head. The aroma is a fair amount tamer than I was hoping, with a touch of malt and corn, maybe some bread in there. The flavor is slightly sweet with a touch of hard minerally bitterness and a hint of hop flavor on the finish. This really is a more traditional style IPA, not American. Thin-ish body and medium carbonation. petematte46 (212), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 1, 2009 This is a bud light with an extra .000001 ounces of hops. Not sure why they call it a IPA. Not a good beer at all. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2009 Bottle from Rollinhard. Hazy light orange amber pour. Bready malt and hop aroma. Smooth malt taste with a spicy hop bitterness. Kind of like a hoppy marzen. imadeadguy (378), back in NJ!, New Jersey, USA Jun 22, 2009 12oz. Pour is hazy golden with no head at all. Slight hints of citrus to the nose, but nothing more. Flavor is like a Budweiser. Drinkable but this shouldn’t be called an IPA. Ew. tronraner (1905), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jun 18, 2009 12 oz bottle, courtesy of Soonah. Pours golden yellow with slight white head and a lot of speckledy gray floaties. The aroma is malty in a way I don’t quite expect from a typical IPA (the all-German ingredients explains this), with lots of lemonbread, and a strange yeasty note. The flavor is lemon and muffins with a good dose of herbal tea. Very weird. The finish is quite bitter, but the herbal tea characteristics really hang on. I’m not sure how I feel about this one.
