Muddy blond color. Classic aroma of wheat with light banana. The flavor is ordinary, less interesting than the aroma, weak. The hop infusion was a bit too long.

This brew is a very pale, semi-opaque yellow color out of the bottle, with not much head to speak of, and quite a few floaties around the bottom of the bottle/glass. The aroma is bananas, spice, and overall earth and grain. The taste is similar, with slight banana and orange notes to go along with the clovey-ness. The finish is peppery, but the thin, watery palate left me wanting more. Yes I know this is a summer brew, very hefe-like in body, but it left me a bit flat. It reminds me of Celis White, which I like, but it falls a bit short of Celis. I also like Rahr’s winter ale MUCH better than this summer ale, so I think I’ll stick with that one and try Rahr’s other offerings as I find them! To each his own, this is just not my favorite style!

Pours a cloudy yellow-gold, with a nice pillowy head. Smells wonderful:reminds me a lot of sausage, but there’s some clove and banana there too. Kinda like a rauchbier-light in aroma. Taste is lighter than the aroma sets it up to be, and a bit fruitier: some light lemon, but lots of bread, and still a pinch of that brautwurst-esque smoke. Finishes with a refreshing, dry, and musty yeast quality, which isn’t as heavy as in the Belgian beers. A great hefe, probably one of my faves, and it really comes off as being "German" rather than "American."

I’ve had draught and bottle. The draught seemed a little more syrupy and sweet. I tasted the rye more out of the bottle. A good beer and a more stand-up wheat than many.

Foggy gold, not much of a head. Aroma is heavy nutmeg, along with banana and citrus esters along with bubblegum also. Taste is citrus, along with banana, yeast, and the wheat body. Pretty good.

This brew would probably go best with a wedge of orange, I didn’t have one and thought it might make it a little better. Not a bad brew, very Blue Moon-esque, with flavors of corriander and clove. Tasted more like a white than a wheat, but definatley refreshing.

it’s chili and beer day, and i have a pot simmering that i added a bottle of elissa to and cracked this to drink while i let it cook down. both bottles compliments of lumpy. pours a hazed yellow with a white head that settles into a film. aroma is just what i wanted here, light banana, a bit of wet field, and a touch of sulphury esters. good flavor here, banana, sweet orange like flavor i can’t pin down, a hint of clove, a bit of pepper on the backside. a pleasure of a beer. if i ever go back to texas i will drink more of this.

Pour is hazed yellow with a dense bright white head...smell is clove, banana, and dirt....taste is wheat and yeast, with lots of banana and some clove...sticky and sweet....tastes dusty...
