The beer is clean and leaves no foam on the glass. It is appreciably cloudy. It has strong aromas of clove, spice, and wheat malt. The flavor is full and refreshing with flavors of banana, dry wheat, and vanilla. The beer has a medium body and a little fizz that makes it refreshing sip after sip. This is pretty flavorful, enjoyable brew. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

Aroma is heavy nutmeg, along with banana and citrus esters along with bubblegum also. Taste is citrus, along with banana, yeast, and the wheat body. Pretty good. Banana, clove, and bubble gum in the nose. Banana and bubble gum, and bread in the flavor. It has nice sweet but crisp finish. Well made beer. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Here is Rahr’s newest beer and I believe one of their best if not the best. The beer pours authentically very cloudy honey golden color with a big egg white head that mostly dissipates. Aroma is where the action really picks up with some big banana and clove notes as well as a nice wheat and yeast notes. Flavor follows the aroma with really nice wheat flavor and a big banana note; also yeast and some spiciness. This is a really nice effort in the tradition of the great German wheat beers. legion242 (1586), Richardson, Texas, USA

May be the best Texas Hefe- Live Oak has changed in recent years IMO. Very refreshing and had a proper amount of banana and clove. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2006 Pours a cloudy yellow-gold, with a nice pillowy head. Smells wonderful:reminds me a lot of sausage, but there’s some clove and banana there too. Kinda like a rauchbier-light in aroma. Taste is lighter than the aroma sets it up to be, and a bit fruitier: some light lemon, but lots of bread, and still a pinch of that brautwurst-esque smoke. Finishes with a refreshing, dry, and musty yeast quality, which isn’t as heavy as in the Belgian beers. A great hefe, probably one of my faves, and it really comes off as being "German" rather than "American." cowboy7096 (55), Arlington, Texas, USA

I think I found my favorite wheat beer... the cloudy yellowish color we all know, the citus/clove taste, and smooth, real smooth. Of course I am a native fort woth texan so I might have a slightly biased opinion, but this is my new favorite beer.
