| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Cool package, but it stops there. Poured a watery brown, not black, with a thin head that vanished quickly. Roasted malts with faint smokey something. I couldn’t finish it. Maybe I got a bad bottle. Will try to rerate this one in a few months. Dsnutz (71), dallas, Texas, USA

It had a quickley vanishing head, and you know i luv head, and it had a weak taste. I’ll give the Red a try before I give up on them. swanmann (308), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

As a schwarzbier, this one does come off with a bit too much roast, but that’s how I like it. Pours a black color with a brown lasting head. Aroma is definate roast malt with a hint of acetalaldehyde. Flavor is the same, with a very clean palate, and a huge roasty backbone. A crisp, refreshing roasty beer. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 16, 2006 Body is black with a thin white head. T his smells like smoke, also with a bit of ham and brisket, with mayonaise as a note. Pretty interesting aroma. Taste is just odd, very mettalic, charcoal, not sure what is wrong here. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Aroma is roasted/burnt malt that is rather hearty if not very intense. Body is dark amber to brown and holds a rapidly diminishing, pinky thin tan head. Fore is watery with some mild raisin and burnt malts on the back end and a little cocoa in the far finish. This could almost be good...and currently is better (to me) than it’s rating, but lacks intensity of flavor (and aroma) and could use a bit more of the raisin-like sweetness found in better Schwarzbiers. Still as an exercise in drinking it’s not a bad beer. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Pours a dark brown (almost black) color with a thin tan head after an aggressive pour. Boring burnt grain with a hint of apple. Flavor is slightly unpleasant with a more burnt malty flavors and a metallic finish. I was warned by my brother that this stuff was "just ok" and it ended up being worse. I guess Mel Gibson really is anti-semetic.
