aroma was weak and faintly sweet. looks highly carbonated/bubbly with little head. flavor is good, grapefruit hop bitterness with roasted malt finish. fair enough deal.

12 oz bottle via BA-SS-07 (thanks!). This pours a deep dark brown.Nose is all about the herbal and earthy notes. Taste is all caramel and malts with some earthy pine. Body is medium. carbonation is moderate. Not bad but could stand to have more body and more flavoe.

black pour with a khaki head that hangs around a little while. very sweet with lots of malts on the nose. a little thinner than i was expecting but overall a rather tasty beer. roasted malts and a slight dry chocolate aftertaste.

Ooooook....I read the comments on this beer and I love Rahr..... could have used more hops but for the gravity of the beer I totally approve!....It did warm me up, but I had a spaten optimator before this, so that explains why I feel so tipsy...and way I payed $9.99.....The head retention is good when poured right....nice dark color, not so good use of hop’s....Going there on the 29th, I have some questions for them........

Pours a dark ruby color with a very small tan head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Flavor is rich of roasted chocolate and caramel, with a hint of the 8% alcohol. One of my favorite Rahr brews, as good, if not better than the Oktoberfest. 12 oz. bottle.

Bottle, courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a clear brown color with burgundy highlights and a medium, beige color. Aroma of caramel and chocolate with mild alcohol. The flavor has a rich presence of malt with nuts, caramel and chocolate. It’s sweet but just enough. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. A pleasant beer to sip on a cold october evening.

This one reminds me alot of the Trader Joe’s Winter beer. Light in color, body and mouthfeel with not a whole lot going on. Would’ve liked to have seen alot more body and spice character. With the previous in mind, this still does exhibit some decent malt character with notes of caramel, dates and candied fruit.
