| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2007 Pours a dark ruby color with a very small tan head. Aroma is malty with some caramel. Flavor is rich of roasted chocolate and caramel, with a hint of the 8% alcohol. One of my favorite Rahr brews, as good, if not better than the Oktoberfest.

Pours a clear brown color with burgundy highlights and a medium, beige color. Aroma of caramel and chocolate with mild alcohol. The flavor has a rich presence of malt with nuts, caramel and chocolate. It’s sweet but just enough. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. A pleasant beer to sip on a cold october evening. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2007 This one reminds me alot of the Trader Joe’s Winter beer. Light in color, body and mouthfeel with not a whole lot going on. Would’ve liked to have seen alot more body and spice character. With the previous in mind, this still does exhibit some decent malt character with notes of caramel, dates and candied fruit.
