joergen (6340), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 20, 2008 Bottle.
Hazy amber coloured with a huge and alcing off white head.
Fruity aroma of hops, caramel amd pine needles with notes of grass.
Fruity flavour of hops, yeast, pine needles and grape fruits.
Dry hoppy finish. yespr (6400), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 12 fl oz bottle. Pours murky orange with a hige off-white head, quite lively when opened too. Orange to grapefruity hops aroma. Flavour is nicely hops grapefruity with a mild spice note and a smooth, mild yet present caramel malt presence. Lingering hoppy and light spiced finish. Quite dry hoppy. heemer77 (3668), Savannah, Missouri, USA May 5, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. The body was hazy dark copper with a light kahki head. The aroma was strong grapegruit with some hazelnuts. The taste was nice full grapefruit with some almonds and bread crust. A Nicely crafted IPA. JPDIPSO (4234), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 2, 2008 Dark golden to bronze in color. Eye opening hops scents that I did not expect. Ruby red grapefruit and mild pine dominate the nose. Hints of lightly toasted malt and caramel underneath. Nice sheet of lace. Mild cidre flavors mix with white grapefruit and pine sap. Finish id fairly dry with some dry herbs and a touch more pine sap. A bit of pepper in the linger. It would have been nice to see more people drinking the local brews rather than the typical BMC at the bar when I was there. Skyview (2851), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jul 2, 2007 Another one of Menominee-Marinette brewery brands of the past revived by Rail House. On tap or in bottles at the brewpub, this beer pours a clear golden amber with an average off-white head. Quickly dissolves to a nice ring with spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt with distinct orange peel and a touch of coriander. Taste is slightly carbonated with more grapefruit character than the orange peel aroma originally detected. Finish is a typical IPA bitterness with excellent grapefruit and piney aftertaste. For you beer historians, the original Big Mac Beer was brewed between 1959 and 1960 for the opening of the Mackinaw Bridge that connects the two Michigan Peninsulas between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. The orginal Big Mac Beer of 1959 was a pale lager with a 75% corn 25% barley malt beverage. Sorry McDonalds! Menominee-Marinette brewery used the Big Mac brand name nine years before you did.
