Commercial Description:
Brewed in the lingering days of winter for the hopeful coming of spring. This brew has been cold lagered since time of kegging, helping to smooth the combination of Munich, Vienna, wheat, and caramel 80 malts. Modest amount of Hallertau and Perle hops to balance the malt profile.

Tap @ GTMW 2006. Light, hazed and caramel brown in color with a big dusty grey head and bubbles popping at the brink. Aroma has some DMS, alluding to caramelized sweet peas and chick peas. Toffee fills in for whatever aromatic signals remain. Flavor tries to be a big boy but the apple/caramel diacetyl bomb root out any chance of that happening. Light cocoa dust concoctions have some mildly roasted hazelnut sheafs to play with but little else. Medium-bodied and dominated by a straight forward toffee stream with a hint of almond and shay superlatives. That being said, diacetyl loads up caramel and butterscotch for the finish.

Excellent malt feel and flavor, their were no bread dough notes on my repeated sampling. Very good example of a Dopplebock.

Copper Coloring with Offwhite Creamy Head. Rich Malt, Hops Aroma. Rich Malt, Bread Dough Notes...Dry Hops Ending. Decent Example of a Dopplebock.
