Commercial Description:
A full bodied golden Pale Ale which pours with a linen white medium density head leaving spider web lace on the glass. On the palate the flavour is sweet fruity malts up front (apricot, mango) with a bit of candy, and slight grassy notes which fall away to reveal a hint of biscuit with rather pleasant grapefruit and perfume undertones. This is a hop bomb, there is no doubt. To the nose there is a mild malt aroma which accentuates the robust floral bouquet which is derived from the hops.

Medium full bodied ale with pleasant lingering hop finish.

6.8 % alcohol by volume, IBU’s 46.6

Food Pairings: Burgers, Chilli, Chorizo, Crispy/Spicy Duck, Spicy Indian dishes

Very nice pint of pale enjoyed at C’est what, it has good bones and is just a little bit shy on the aroma. Full rounded feel (not sticky sweet) good rounded hop bite, solid feel, balanced and as I said not a ton of aroma. A bit salty, nice. looks a darkish yellow and thick. This one elephant could someday fly.

On tap at Volo. Appearance: nice orange/amber with a small but lasting yellow head. Aroma: Slight hops, vanilla, lemon and caramel. Flavour: bitter, some nice hoppiness, caramel and a long dry bitter finish.

[2509-20091002] Tap. Mild bandaid straw aroma. Clear, orange amber body with a quick off-white head. Strawberry and orange Campino flavour is sweeter than creamed corn with a creamy long sweet aftertaste. Medium body is smooth. Weird smooth candy characteristics are not unpleasant.

Draught at Volo. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a small diminishing white head. Mild aroma is fruity and with light resiny hops and pale malt. Flavour: Smoke? Weird. Mild hops, caramel malt and grain along with smoke and a decent bitter finish. Average bodied. Odd but I liked it.

On-tap at C’est What. 47 IBU only for an IPA. It is still hoppy, the carbonation is right there, the finish is odd. Orangey colour with some lace. Definite smoke, a touch watery, a mild pleasant aroma.

Appearance: clear golden with mid carbonation noted. white mid top with some lace presented. 3+
Nose: sweet malts as base to fruity hop character.
Flavor/Palate : smoked ,metallic bit rough front based on thinner malt. This ale becomes smoother as going forward. Smoky feel with metallic and malty blend worked better than you might imagine.

2009-10-01. Hazy golden yellow body with a modest frothy off-white head. Aroma of cooked corn, grass, other something. Flavour is likewise a bit odd, corn/cooked veg, dry pale malts. odd. Average palate. Poor. Based on other ratings it seems that perhaps this does not travel well? Or maybe its just me today, I don’t know. On tap at C’est What

1.9L growler thanks to Jimmay, thanks man! Pours a nice bright gold with a large rocky beige head. The aroma is some melon with piney hops riding on smoke which seems to work somehow. Nice. Flavour starts out very astringent and dry on the palate, nice hoppy bitterness and citrus, making way for the unintended smokey element which I find somehow fits and actually compliments the hops. Huh, weird, go figure, I’m enjoying this infamous off flavour from this brewery. Decent malt backbone but this one is all about the hops and the smoke. I really like it, this is a very tasty beer and I wish I had more than just one growler!
