Commercial Description:
Rainier beer brings together nature’s bounty from the great Northwest. Pure spring waters combine with golden barley and verdant hops to produce a beer rich in taste and texture. Fermented slowly with a pedigree yeast culture under tightly controlled conditions, Rainier comes forth with a satisfying malty flavor over a slightly fruity background, spiced with Chinook, Mt. Hood, and Willamette hop notes.

12 oz. can poured into a pint glass. Pours a pale golden yellow with a white head. Aroma: Skunky, with a hint of corn Flavor: Slightly bitter...meh.

This is a great beer, if only for a change of pace from PBR, Coors, or Miller. Otherwise, nothing too special.

Whoops, missed rating this awhile back. For a pale lager its well above BMC. smells of ripe corn with a matching body color. tastes like slightly sweet corn.

Easily my favorite yellow fizz. Not much to say; it beats the pants off of PBR, Bud and the like and it is the rarest cheap beer that I actively enjoy rather than view as a means to an end.

12 oz can. Initial aroma is of skunk and corn gone bad. These bad smells go away once it settles for a bit, leaving an unremarkable macro aroma. Surprisingly it pours a thick head which lasts longer than any other macro I’ve reviewed so far. [sidenote] Speaking of which, it wasn’t too long ago this wasn’t a macro! It was brewed in the Pacific Northwest, not by fucking Miller. Must everything they touch turn to shit??

Back in my college days out west, we used to get kegs of Rainer Beer, for house parties etceteras. It was on tap at all the local bars, and cheap at the market. In all that time I can honestly say I never enjoyed a single one. Pale adjunct lager with almost no malt taste, and a terrible finish that made me think they must not ferment at lager temperatures. There are worse beers, but not many.

A dependable, low cost swill. Not as good as the rival Olympia. Sadly, they had brilliant adverts in the late 70’s/early 80’s. What happened to them?

Nothing too complex here. It seems that this is your basic ’local’ macrobrew that does it’s job. At least it isn’t offensive and somewhat drinkable.
