The aroma of cinnamon and spice with orange is apparent right from the pour. Dark body with a small off white head. The taste was complex, with all the spices and malts mix and twirler to form a different sensations with each sip. This was very good. Can’t wait till next year. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Clear brown body, thin tan head. Varied but enjoyable flavor: brown sugar, mint, coriander, pine needles. The flavor has light brown sugar malt under orange peel, coriander, and nutmeg-like spice. The orange lends a refreshing fruitiness to the beer. Quite nice, the mouthfeel is a bit thin though. Dorwart (1831), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2005 Good sized head of pretty dense bubbles. Light carbonation. Settles very nicely. Light malty aroma with spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger) Color is sort of a port wine color. Very impressive actually. Malty and slightly sweet with just enough spices to make it interesting. Mellow yet flavorful. Litltle bit of dark fruit comes out as it warms. Medium bodied. Some molasses and a hint of coffee. Finish is smooth and a little dry. Nice alcohol warming. I like this stuff. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 9, 2006 Clear coppery brown. Thin head. Nice spicy aroma... nutmeg/pumpkin based and light scotch whisky flair and a slight citrus edge. Nice balanced spice/citrus/sweet body... some nutmeg/pumpkin, slight orange, and brown sugar. Good stuff! richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is a nice mix of malts and spices, the cinnamon that was in the aroma is just as prevalent in the taste. Excellent finish, very smooth, medium body. A very enjoyable brew. Good Christmasy flavor with decent complexity and a smooth finish. I like RVB beers, and this one is no exception. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 13, 2005 This is more in line with how I wished the Coors Christmas Ale had tasted. Very dark, almost no light passing through. Aroma of spices. Taste of spices. Near to some pumpkin brews but lacking the actual pumpkin. Good stuff.
