Commercial Description:
A generous amount of dark caramel malt gives this brew it’s notes of dried fruits and caramel. It’s distinct copper color comes from this malt as well. Complex malting aromas and flavors dominate, but it’s the Fuggles and East Kent Goldings hops that give this beer a satisfying, and lasting, smooth mellow bitter finish. (Our brewer took license here - the original Copper Ale was a single varietals hop brew using only EKG hops.)

Very Nice spicy/sweet/nutty aroma. Nicely smooth, and toasty, flavor. Has a decent hop "pop" at the finish. Thanks to Lou18 for the trade!

This opens with a large frothy hed over a sparkling amber brew. The aroma was lightly malty and the rest of this beer was a disappointment. Sour and cidery flavor that was just a turn off.

A sweetness was the main component of this aroma, graciously sent by lmgraz1, an almost vanilla or caramel scent. Color was a solid, deep brown, but not opaque, tan head faded down to leave bubbles around the rim of the glass. Flavor is a little malty on the beginning but smooths out going into the tail, but leaves a little bit of bitterness behind that I don’t ususally look for from my brown ales. Good, but not great.

Flowery, bubble gum nose. Spare head, golden color. Medium hoppy. Smooth but kind of thin bodied.

Pours deep copper, with aroma of malt, tobacco, and caramel/toffee. Tastes malty, with toffee/caramel at the finish. The finish was also roasty and rauchy to an extent. This one was all over the place.

On tap at Brewtopia ’04. Poured a reddish copper with almost no aroma. Very light with a hint of a burn on the tongue. Watery with very little hops.

Copper color with a light malty aroma. Taste isn’t sweet or hoppy. This was served just way too warm. Middle of the road would be a compliment.
