SpringsLicker (1751), Tennessee, USA Dec 11, 2004 I heard they had just closed and so I got this one out to raise in honor of yet another brewer gone under.
Hazy amber pour with absolutely no head. Ther e are some Belgain aromatics going on in the nose, malts, no hops, weak esters. Almost no carbonation, maybe I’ve got a leaker here as it was a screw top.
The flavor isn’t too bad, some sweetness, citrusy and spicy. O.K., I’ve switched glasses and poured this into a chalice. I got a little head that time.
The flavor is sweet and spicy. Body is a bit thin. I wish I had another to sample of this one. Not bad, but it’s probably better than the one I have.
Yogi_Beera (2400), Hamburg, Germany Nov 28, 2004 Clay and nutty nose. Amber red color. Also nutty taste. Hoppy short kick, weak all in all - a Belgian Strong Ale - no! skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA Sep 12, 2004 I’m surprised to see this classified as a BSA. The flavor and (copper) appearance are more of an Old English Ale. The aroma, however IS fantastic. There are so many types of fruits and spices, light and dark, strong and mild - impressive. Unfortunately, the spices take over in the taste and palate, that the malt character is undone, leaving an unpleasant taste. DocLock (3958), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 8, 2004 Along with Skullcrusher, this was the highlight of my trip to RVB. Gold in color, with one of the best beer aromas I have ever experienced. My olfactory neuron receptors sensed a multitude of fruit, citrus, hops, malt, perfume, and strawberry. The taste was very complex also, with hints of malt, fruit including watermelon and strawberry, florals, and spice. The palate is medium, slightly dry and spicy. This beer kicks ass..it’s as simple as that. After two pints of Demon Fuel, I took a hefty, Satanic piss. Eyedrinkale (3076), Beer Town, New York, USA May 6, 2004 Copper color with a thin off white head. Taste is a bit bitter and spicy with hints of coriander, orange and light malt. Finish was just a tad sweet.
