hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 23, 2006 12oz bottle. Poured a medium orangish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of some raspberries and grain. Tastes of watered down raspberry juice (not that I’ve ever had a glass raspberry juice) mixed with watered down apple juice. Did I mention this was watery. Nasty tasting. Thin body. On the way to pour this out. beerbomb (172), New Jersey, USA Nov 8, 2006 Updated: Nov 9, 2006Labeled RAZZ ALE-Big syrupy raspberry aroma-very sweet, out of balance sugary flavor-raspberry is artificial tasting like a syrup or jam-no wheat to be found only cereal graininess-6 pack i bought was very inconsistent-most pours had no head whatsoever others had some-some bottles were filled below the neck-others not-not a good buy-ive brewed raspberry ales 10X better than this... FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA Nov 13, 2005 Pours with a frothy, thin, pale, off white colored head. The beer is a clear copper-amber color. The aroma is a mix of restrained raspberry, stretched almost thin grain, and a sort of watery beer character. The taste is lightly sweet with a tart raspberry note to it that is present throughout this beer. Overall the raspberry flavor is quite mellow and restrained. This beer is mostly just a water amber all. Not too much to it, but at least there are not any off-putting flaws here either. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Oct 11, 2005 Raspberry, cider, straw malt, strawberry in the nose. Golden body with no head at all. Flavor has raspberry, cider, lemon, straw like malt, wheat. A bit watery. Very meh. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Oct 9, 2005 12 oz bottle via trade with Lou18 - Thanks Lou - Pours golden with brief white head that fades very quickly. Aroma of raspberry and a bit of apricot as well Flavor is a bit of raspberry over wheat. Not much.. One dimensional and not real interesting. Palate is light and somewhat watery. Low carbonation and not a real great mouthfeel either. apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Oct 2, 2005 The aroma is very artificial - some raspberries - very unsweet and yes, wheaty. The flavor is mildly fruity, and slightly nutty. The finish is smooth, but it leaves a slightly metallic lingering on one’s tongue. notalush (2628), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2005 Hazy golden color - mild aroma of apricot, wheat and, of course, raspberry - light and crisp - just a trace of raspberry in the flavor - not a lot going on here - just another in a long line of boring raspberry wheat ales - you’d think more people would get it right considering it seems to be a popular brew to make - try Southampton’s if you want a good example of the style. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA Jul 3, 2005 Clear garnet with low carbonation. Raspberry and malt aroma. Herbal flavor with raspberry.
