Dark brown, little head. Good solid mild - mouth-filling roasted malt, some chocolate, some caramel. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Feb 19, 2006 Cask Stillage at Wilkie’s Tavern, Warrington 17/04/2003
Black strong in alcohol and slight roast aroma. Some dryness in a lasting finish. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 12, 2005 [Cask at GBBF 2004] A very dark brown beer with no head. The aroma is roasted with notes of alcohol and coffee. The flavor is sweet roasted with notes of raisins and chocolate. Daniel_Brown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England Apr 7, 2005 Hand pulled at the Wellington, Birmingham. Dark, opaque, nice beige head. Gentley sweet aroma. Excellent Mild - a smooth and well formed coffee flavour, but with the lightness demanded of the style. Slips down easily, with a hint of oiliness. Some sweetness in the finish. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England Sep 18, 2004 Very dark, almost black colour. A full bodied, heavily coffee accented mild. Roasted malt aroma, with a full mouthfeel and chocolate & coffee notes. Finishes dry. An excellent mild. Cask at GBBF 2004.
