(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 19 Oct 2009) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of caramel and dried fruit. Malty, nutty taste with caramel, citrus, dried fruit and generous amounts of earthy hops in the finish. Solid malt body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced. Good stuff.

Cask Conditioned at Market Porter, London
Amber color; thin creamy head. The aroma is simple, with some fudge. Good flavor, caramel, a bit of sweetness, very light smokey and earthy touch, even cheesy, making it very pleasant. Correct bitterness. Interesting.

Cask (Kitty’s, Helsinki) Rich red, thin head. Very malty sweet moderately hoppy aroma. Taste covers the tongue, big bold malty body with rich roasty edges join a hoppy middle taste, and the bitterness of the burntness and the hops fight it out for the finish. Aroma gains coffee-ice-cream component later.

On gravity at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 2/11/07. Tried as part of the HPS’s beer festival, This was a deep amber with a moderate off-white head. Fruity malt aroma with some earthy hops. The flavour was malty with a decent dry finish. Good.

Cask Handpump at the Bear & Billet, Chester 28/03/2006 Slightly fruity aroma. Dark coloured rich on the palate and strong in alcohol. Fruity raspberry flavour. Some bitterness in a crisp and dry roast malt finish.
