Commercial Description:
Creamy head smooth carbonation complements its deep mahogany color. Bouquet teems with chocolate, apple and clove. Roasted malts intertwine with the Tettnanger hops to create a depth of complex flavors. Smooth roasted malts and dark caramel leads to clean finish - unlike any other dark beer.

Bottle pours murky burnt caramel with a small frothy off-white head.   Quite dark for a wheat, must be a Dunkles Hefe.   No visible carbonation, lacing seems exceptional.   Aroma is heavy on banana, bread, and some minor spicing.   Up front it feels a tad thin for a German Hefe, but the flavor is there.   Definately not one that weighs you down.   Middle is wheaty, of dark bread, with some banana and cloves.   Finish tends to fall off a bit too quickly.   Tiz decent, especially on a hot day and when you needn't worry about getting too full from other German Hefes.   Thanks goes out to TChrome for the trade!

Very attractive amber color with very nice off white head that exhibits good retention. Aroma is inspiring. Lots of wheat and spices. Flavor is unique. Flavor begins sweet and finishes dry and somewhat yeasty. Wish I could get this down here during the summer. Thanks to MaiBockAddict for this one.

12 oz bottle. Enormous cascading smooth off-white head tops a dark chocolaty body. Apple and banana in the nose on opening, settles into a more candylike scent as it warms. Heavily carbonated, flavor starts out sweetish but turns sour and very yeasty quickly. Not very wheat-like at all, dry and almost astringent finishing. I have a feeling this may have been a bad bottle, it really is a weird one otherwise.

Proud, sweet toffee roaming on clove-y, earthy grounds...Prune juice, vanilla and mutable hop bitterness in a fuller body but fainter flavor profile compared to their Blonde Wheat...Yeast shot somewhat overwhelms the previous subtleties and creates a dry, dusty finale...

12 oz bottle: Extremely dark brown under an off white head. Wheat, rye, artificial bananas, and burnt dough make up an aroma that didn't really do it for me. Flavours were rich and full, but not the flavours I wanted or was expecting: bitter banana nut bread, bubble gum, honey, vanilla oats and wheat. Hey, you can't like every beer. . .

Dark amber that approaches brown with a thin, off-white head. Nice wheat beer aroma of banana, clove, chocolate. A moderate body. The flavors are present but soft and light. The finish is creamy and clean. I really wish the flavors were more pronounced, as that would have made this a much better beer.

This beer pours dark as night and without any head whatsoever. Decent beer, but I really didn't taste much of anything. It has a decent aroma, but I really did not notice flavor. Oh well. I must re-rate with another bottle. Original 2.6 Well, it does taste like something now. Must have been the other beers I sampled that night that blocked it. Decent flavor, but nothing that great. 3.2 Third time is the charm. I forgot I had this for a few months. Boy oh boy, did it get better. Much more flavor and not as one-dimensional. Infinitely more complex.

It was dark and rich in color. Very pleasant beer. Some clove notes to it with some chocolate too. It has a nice creamy head.
