Greg Zaccardi was there to tap a wooden cask for the premier of this Year’s Winter Wheat. I wasn’t expecting the Classic to compare, but boy was I surprised! I might like this better. It had all of the great characteristics of the Winter Wheat, without the slight alcohol taste. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2004 Clear ruby/orange/brown with a frothy off-white head. Apples, and sweet caramel in the aroma, very fizzy body, starts and ends sweet. Nice, but too much carbonation. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA

OOOOOhhhh, O.K. - a Dunkelweizen!!! Nice spritzy body full of chocolate, nutty almond, caramel sugars, subtle zing of citrus. Not very thick, but the lingering sweetness adds body. Very good! The malts the finish in hops, I like this beer. A very good dark beer, and I like them dark. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA

Oh that touch of wheaty tanginess among some very slight pepper and clove, even soft chewy sweet stuff, all bathed in just the tiniest bit of campfire smoke. This is a total gem of a beer. Aroma is more earthy than others I’ve experienced. Delish!!! Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
