Commercial Description:
Creamy head smooth carbonation complements its deep mahogany color. Bouquet teems with chocolate, apple and clove. Roasted malts intertwine with the Tettnanger hops to create a depth of complex flavors. Smooth roasted malts and dark caramel leads to clean finish - unlike any other dark beer.

Seems like I am the only one here who did not like it. Opaque color, no headm malt-beer nose -sweet. Sweet malty weak taste, thin bodied.

Had it last night at Andy’s. Greg Zaccardi was there to tap a wooden cask for the premier of this Year’s Winter Wheat. I wasn’t expecting the Classic to compare, but boy was I surprised! I might like this better. It had all of the great characteristics of the Winter Wheat, without the slight alcohol taste.

Clear ruby/orange/brown with a frothy off-white head. Apples, and sweet caramel in the aroma, very fizzy body, starts and ends sweet. Nice, but too much carbonation.

Sometimes, it’s fun to just grab a beer and pour - a quick glance at the label and I’m expecting a light wheat beer, but what pours out is dark brown! OOOOOhhhh, O.K. - a Dunkelweizen!!! Nice spritzy body full of chocolate, nutty almond, caramel sugars, subtle zing of citrus. Not very thick, but the lingering sweetness adds body. Very good!

Dark brown is color. Aroma is pleasant, and leaves my mouth watering to taste. The malts the finish in hops, I like this beer. A very good dark beer, and I like them dark.

Quintessential perfect dunkleweizen. Oh that touch of wheaty tanginess among some very slight pepper and clove, even soft chewy sweet stuff, all bathed in just the tiniest bit of campfire smoke. This is a total gem of a beer. Aroma is more earthy than others I’ve experienced. Delish!!!

Dark Brown Coloring. Medium Head. Wheat Flavor Througout. Some Malts. Thought It was Very Decent But Not Extraordinary For The Style....Definitly Worth Trying.
