| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 27, 2006 Sampled from growler provided by weeare138. Poured a dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of wheat, cloves, caramel, chocolate and a little on the musty side. Tastes of wheat, chocolate, and caramel. I found the tastes to be on the lighter and thinner side with a thin body. Rastacouere (5561), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 23, 2005 Vinous aroma allows much more alcohol through than I’d anticipate for this style. It comes out in a phosphoric, minty and anise like foreground that quickly reminds of a strong roasty tea with notes of cloves. Body is very dark, schwarzbier like, but the little off-white head dissipates quickly. Biting carbonation doesn’t last long. Once again, a surprisingly fruity and vinous flavor, nutty, alcoholic and not quite to my liking in its balance despite the rather vast array of esters and malt nuances. jcwattsrugger (5532), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
