Aroma of toasted dough, caramel malt, light hoppiness. More caramel and bread in the taste. Smooth, alcohol well covered, nice bock. This was a big hit among both beergeeks and non-beergeeks alike, at my party Saturday. JFGrind (1351), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA

I imagine this recipe is close to what you’d sample in Bavaria. Yeasty, musty aroma, crisp hop bitterness, and spicy pepper flavors are all represented in the sample. My personal preference is for a sweeter bock than this one. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA

Poured darker than I expected, a murky dark amber color with a small tan head. Aroma of mild malts, fresh bread and some spices. Flavor was pretty similar but with a dry hop finish where you can finally taste the alcohol that was kept so well hidden.
