PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 22, 2009 Tap at Studio Square’s Craft Beer Week Fest 2009: Hazy deep copper with a light tan film. Some soft fruity amber malt notes in the aroma with a touch of fruity U.S. hops. Creamy soft body- some vegetal in the flavor with a fruity malt character and perhaps a touch of diacetyl- yet it’s overlook-able. One dimensional and doesn’t feel German. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2009 Draft at Craft. Pours coppery with off-khaki head. Nose is caramel malt, slight brown sugar, fruit, earthy notes. Tastes very caramel malty, with some fruit, earthy, nutty, and hoppy notes throughout. HoppityHop (103), USA May 12, 2008 Updated: Mar 13, 2009Dark copper color with a little bit of an off white head. Malty and complex, with a nice blend of hops coming through in the aftertaste. Very drinkable and tasty. Well made example of the style. (Added note on 3/13/09: Newer batches of this beer seem to have some wheat thrown into the grain bill, possibly to make it stand out from High Point’s previously similar Oktoberfest?) jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 20, 2008 Draft at Which Brew. Poured a hazy golden body with nice head. Aroma is light malt and crisp hops. Flavor is crisp and clean, light malty body with a lightly dry finish. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Dec 8, 2006 sampled on tap at the brewery. Aroma is malty, with some light hops. Aroma is malt-some sweet. Taste is malt-some sweet, secondary hops. OK carbonation. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2006 Sampled at the beer fest in Adamstown Pa. The two beers i sampled from here did not impress me at all, actually they were the worst two of the whole trip. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of hops and fruit. The flavor is bitter, yeasty, and toasted malts. I just didn’t like this one. Dorwart (1807), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Nov 24, 2004 Thin head which lasts for a while. Decent lacing and good carbonation. Thin malty aroma with a hint of fruit and a bit of hops. Dark, golden amber in color. Thick, malty biscuit flavor that is softin the mouth. Finish is smooth, dry and a little bitter. A good vienna.
