| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 29, 2007 Very Dark Brown with Light Tan Head. Sweet Malt, Fruit...Notably Currant on the Nose. Nice Thick and Creamy Mouthfeel. Caramel and Chocolate Notes Mix with Black Currant.....Light Wheaty Aftertaste. Well Balanced for a Higher Alc Brew. Overall Just Very Well Done. A Winter Warmer but Still Very Approachable. I Wish This Was Distributed to MN! bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2007 Bottle from hophead. Poured a dark brown with almost no head at all. In the aroma I swear I smelled olives, figs, and some wheaty notes. Flavor was sweet and had a dark maltiness and notes of dark fruits. Pretty unique beer. bmurray (20), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2007 Matt at Capone’s suggested this one for me. Poured from a 12oz into my pint glass. pours dark yellow brown, almost no head. Slight lacing. Primary scent is bananas and... soy sauce? The banana scent stays true throughout the initial taste, but the soysauce that i smelled comes through as a burnt butter-cream taste in the middle and the end. The mouthfeel starts out smooth and ends refreshingly crisp. Alcohol content is apparent in the aftertaste, but there is almost no warming except at the very bottom of the throat. I rarely have this style of beer so it is a unique treat for me. Low carbonation with a nice combination of fruit and cream. iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA

I can almost see through this beer, but not quite. It is a deep brownish ruby with only a couple beige bubbles for a head. Aroma of toast, bananas, and a bit of New Belgium’s house yeast. Flavor has some roasted and toasted malts up front, banana, light tartness, and an earthy burnt finish. Burps burnt plastic, though this doesn’t make me hate the beer like it does with a lot of the other plastic beers. I would not believe this was 9.5% if someone told me.Full bodied with a little bit of carbonation. Not a bad weizen MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
