Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 11, 2007 Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy amber beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of hops and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, lightly burnt malts, dry flowery hops, and light notes of fruit, leading to a dry woody end. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Jun 4, 2004 According to the programme notes this is "a blend produced for a pub on the island". It is not clear what it is a blend of. It’s a quite deep brown colour. Caramel and soft malt dominates the aroma. The flavour is soft and underpinned by sweetish treacle toffee accents. Not really to my taste. Negligible hop presence. Candy sugar finish. Becomes a bit cloying. A rare appearance on the mainland. Cask (gravity), Cambridge Beer Festival.
SilkTork (3853), Rochester, Kent, England May 26, 2004 Cambridge Beer Fest. Gravity. Reddish brown and sweetish bitter in the Celtic style - lows hops and sweet malt in a light and refreshing body. Lively condition. The result is rather like cola or fizzy sarsaparilla. Leather malt aroma.
