esjaygee (830), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 15, 2008 On tap at the Randy’s Fun Hunters Brew Pub. Reddish brown with a thin brown head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts and light coffee. Taste of sweet malts, caramel, roasted malts, alcohol and light fruit and chocolate. Finish is kind of peppery with a mild alcohol burn. Skyview (2921), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Nov 25, 2007 On draught at the brewpub/restaurant in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a fast dissolving tan head that leaves behind a thin ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of Crystal dark malt, dark chocolate, some flowery hops and a touch of coffee. Taste is medium to full bodied, light carbonation, with flavors of toasted dark malt, some baker’s dark chocolate and some floral bitterness. Finish has a good balance of dry dark malt and mild bitterness. A little high for alcohol on most other porters I’ve tried but very enjoyable.
