Commercial Description:
A bottle conditioned version of Firebox with the addition of spice oils.
Pale malt, chocolate malt; Progress and Target hops; ginger, cloves, cinnamon, corriander, nutmeg, pimento. A dark, rich spicy bottle-conditioned ale, resonant with Christmas seasonal flavours and designed to take the chill off the coolest winter night. Ale Mary has a warm and sweet aroma of cloves, coriander and ginger. The palate provides touches of rum, raisins and sultanas, with a dry fruity finish. This ale has been exclusively brewed for us by Paul Davey of RCH Brewery.

Amber colour with large (1"), steady head. Very nice and interesting aroma; cloves, honey and fruit. Very spicey taste, cloves, nutmeg and ginger prominent. Bitter finish, creamy mouthfeel. A challenge to the taste buds, but excellent nontheless.

Orange body, white foamy head. WoW! the nose on this screams winter spice beer. There is cinnamon and clove and a good bit of pine-hops. Taste was spice all over the place. Mouth feel was full, and milky smooth. Come winter, I will be looking for Ale Mary.

Amber color with a large head. Interesting aroma of cloves and alcohol. Outstanding tastes of ginger, cinnamon and cloves on top of a medium malt base. Drinking this in May is probably not the right thing to do, but I can assure you I’ll be drinking this come wintertime!

500 ml bottle, Habersham Beverage Warehouse, Savannah, Ga. Pours a orangish copper with a thick, frothy off-white head and thick lacing left on the glass. Spicy, nutmeg-like aroma - very fresh. Flavor has some spicy elements to it as well. Pick up a bit of cinammon and nutmneg with a trace of spearmint. God overall bitter flavor with a nutty undertone. Palate is thick and creamy. Really enjoyed this one - could see spending a loing night in an English pub nursing several of these.

(500 ml bottle: $5.29 at Whole Foods in La Jolla, CA) Ooph, this is a pretty big price tag, so I’m hoping the beer is worth it. It pours a bright golden orange color, somewhat hazy, with a few dark particles suspended in the beer. Off-white head is fairly small right from the start, but the steady stream of swiftly rising carbonation bubbles maintains a quarter inch later atop the beer. The nose, hmm, I’m not really liking this too much. Spicy, lightly hoppy nose also has what seems to be a fairly alcoholic aroma. Moderately fruity, very lightly malty, but the spicy, bitter flavor is dominant from the start, and is somewhat astringent in the finish. Ale Mary, full of spice, I’m not a big fan of thee.

One of my all-time favorite "Holiday beers." I found out today that Pimiento is the same thing as Allspice, which made me a little sad as I was really beieving for a long time it had little red peppers in it...

Poured with a gigantic head. I had let this sit for over a week, so I know my agitation was not a factor. Deep gold coloring with a little bit of cloudiness. The aroma is ginger bread with some carrots and some cinnamon. The taste is a dry ginger and bread crust with some celery. The spices are overwhelming. This is a weird beer.
