Commercial Description:
A bottle conditioned version of Firebox with the addition of spice oils.
Pale malt, chocolate malt; Progress and Target hops; ginger, cloves, cinnamon, corriander, nutmeg, pimento. A dark, rich spicy bottle-conditioned ale, resonant with Christmas seasonal flavours and designed to take the chill off the coolest winter night. Ale Mary has a warm and sweet aroma of cloves, coriander and ginger. The palate provides touches of rum, raisins and sultanas, with a dry fruity finish. This ale has been exclusively brewed for us by Paul Davey of RCH Brewery.

Murky orange with a nic ewhite head. Hoppy and fruity/spicy aroma. Big malty, hops $ fruitiness flavor. Mellow hop finish. I consider this good for a Christmas beer, but not much more.

Nice cinnamon and spiced cake aroma, just like fresh cake. really smooth spice flavor, but it doesn't linger, not much aftertaste to speak of.

The color a beclouded deep copper with a Brobdingnagian head that is light tan in color, the texture creamy and as it ever so slowly degrades the resultant lace a thick and sticky sheet to obscure the glass. The nose is all malt, sweet, clean and fresh, quite crisp, snappy if you like, start is nicely malted, sweet with the top middling in its feel to the palate. Finish is stinging in its acidity, the hops very English, staid and subdued, quite pleasurable in their sublime spiciness, very dry aftertaste, quite quaffable this one, and I enjoyed its mildness, its palate pleasing freshness and quite a thirst quencher.

It is pleasing to see common sense prevails in the packaging of this beer in a brown bottle. I can wait to see what it looks like when I pour it into the glass. It is rich and cloudy as a result of its bottle conditioning and it has a creamy rocky head. The nose is slightly fruity with some malt as well. The flavour is quite acceptable and is better than many other English bottle conditioned ales. Ale Mary, glass of lace, the laud is with thee.

Bottle pours a slightly darker shade of crystal clear (careful with the sediment) amber with a two inch off white head that lasts and leaves sheets of lace. This head is really noteworthy as it is really nice and lasting and creamy looking. This really is a nice looking ale. The aroma is fruity and spicy. The flavor is where the ale just starts to loose its quality; it is quite spicy and with a lingering sour fruit. The palate is medium rich. Overall, this is not bad, but it could have been great.

Bottled.Tawny brown colour with little/no head, despite the fine condition rising up slowly. Spicy aroma, nutmeg and cinnamon, more nutmeg flavour. Spices completely rule this beer with malt being barely discernable. Sharp mouth feel with a long lasting palate.
