| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 15, 2005 500ml bottle (bottle conditioned), from Rich’s Farm Shop, Somerset. Murky reddish copper colour. No head to speak of after the initial pour. Full malty aroma, quite yeasty, with a hint of treacle. But there’s something a bit unappealing that I can’t quite identify lurking in the background. More sweet malt, treacle and yeast on the palate. I even thought it had a vaguely Belgian feel to it. Plenty of other stuff going on - a little chocolate, lots of plummy fruit and malt loaf (the stuff with dried fruit in it). Bittersweet finish. Quite chewy with a fairly full mouthfeel.
