Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
First brewed to celebrate the 500th guest beer at the Dartmouth Inn, Newton Abbot, and was named by a customer in a competition. It went down so well that it has become a regular beer. This enigmatic full bodied beer with malty hoppy fruit bitter with a sweet taste which all vie for dominance in this complex and well crafted premium chestnut coloured ale

Hand pulled at The Anchor, Birmingham. Marshmallow aroma. Red/brown colour, with soapy lacing and no head. Lovely malty brew - soft, cakey, with a burst of bitterness to finish. A jostling mouthfeel, with some warmth, hints of raspberry and an Autumnal flavour. Rather good. RE-RATE draught at the Figure of Eight, Birmingham - delicious, juicy Bitter. In fact the best kind of Bitter - such a good hop/malt blend, including jiciness, freshness, tartness and fullness. Superb.

red-amber colour, few head but a nice lace, hoppy and fruity with a good malt body, the sweetness is followed by a solid bitterness and a long fruity finish - complex and very subtle, a wonderful brew !

Fabulous and always a favourite. Light strong and very tasty. Why can’t they all make beer this good?

Cask at Wetherspoons, Winsford in Cheshire. Amber coloured with good, long lasting beige head. Fruity and floral hop aroma. Taste is malty and fruity with an excellent mouthfeel.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.0%. Beautiful deep amber colour, large off-white head, leaves a nice lacing. Sweetish aroma with plenty of malts, notes of caramel, bakery and raisins. The flavour is very rich and malty, but also fruity with well balanced hops. Not too sweet. Hoppy aftertaste. A first class premium bitter in my book.

Cask conditioned @ JDW, Soton. Fruity malt aromas with faintly floral hops. Well balanced and as the name implies smooth. Pleasant with no suprises.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small off white head. Malt and fruit aroma. Taste was deliciously sweet and malty with a strong slightly sour fruitiness. Decent bitter finish. Very good indeed.

500ml bottle @ Cardinal. Golden red/brown body with an off-white head. Aroma of slightly roasted malt, caramel, hops. Flavor is sweetish malt, lots of malt, some fruit and a fine well balanced bitterness. Medium bodied and a well balanced bitter.
