Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
As both Paul and Graham are rail enthusiasts the beer is named after the firebox in a steam engine. A reddish deep brown coloured beer which is a deceptively drinkable strong bitter with a fine combination of citrus hops and cherry fruit bittersweet flavours which gives a strong dry bitter finish.
Pale malt, chocolate malt; Progress and Target hops.

500ml bottle @ Cardinal. Golden orange/red body with a foamy off/white head. Aroma is malty and oak. Flavor is fruity, malty, bitter and a bit sourish hoppy with a hint of alcohol. Ballanced with a long, dry, bitter finish.

Københavnske Øldage 07. Bottle. Golden with a nice, creamy head. The aroma is fruity, malty and the flavour is sweetish with notes of caramel, fruit, citrus and it has a light, but harmonic bitterness. A brew with a nice balance, quite charming! 2148

500 ml bottle. Golden amber colour. Thick creamy off-white head that clings to the glass. Little aroma, but there is a little acetyldehyde. Light crisp malt flavour balanced by a bold and crisp hop flavour. Drying hops in the finish nicely balanced by nutty malt sweetness.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned. ABV is 6.0%. Brewed by RCH Brewery, bottled by Integrated Bottling Solutions. Amber coloured beer, huge and lasting off-white head. Pleasant hoppy and fruity aroma, also hints of toffee and oak. The flavour is fruity and malty, with a noticeable alcohol presence. Dry hops in the finish. A powerful extra strong bitter, but no session beer - one bottle is enough.

Bottle @ Copenhagen Øl Festival. Huge creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Clear sparkling body with a golden colour. Aroma of fruit, caramel, herbs and some toasted notes as well. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavour was light sweet with some bitter notes. Light sweet finish.
