Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
As both Paul and Graham are rail enthusiasts the beer is named after the firebox in a steam engine. A reddish deep brown coloured beer which is a deceptively drinkable strong bitter with a fine combination of citrus hops and cherry fruit bittersweet flavours which gives a strong dry bitter finish.
Pale malt, chocolate malt; Progress and Target hops.

A Mes rate: Gravicask up the Junction. Red brown coloured beer. Fruity, well balanced with some lovely dusty cherry notes.

Cask@Chelmsford Beer festival. Pretty crappy and dissapointing in the end. Thin outhfeel. Grainy mouthfeel, with an over-dominant green apple acidity.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Chelmsford BF. An amber coloured beer witha sweet slightly vinuous aroma with some toffee notes also. The taste is malty sweet and warming. A chewy tasty well brewed English Strong ale.

Bottled Herefordshire. Reddy brown coloured, some hops and malt present in the aroma but not too much, malty and pleasantly bitter this was a good if unspectacular ale.

Smells like dirty socks with some floral elements. Pours cloudy with no head. Flavour is slightly better than the smell, but not amazing, and is finished by a thin, weak mouthfeel and an astringent, cloying aftertaste. Not to my taste.
