Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Bottled. A clear, dark brown beer with a nice beige head leaving lacings. Roasted aroma with some coffee and a vague hint of chocolate. Coffee, burnt malt and some chocolate-notes in the flavor. Too thin-bodied. Long, coffee-bitter finish with some fruityness. A bit one-dimentional, maybe some food or snack could to the trick? (070321)

I think this had been on for a few days. Aroma is seriously fruity, no sign of roasted malt at all, perhaps a touch of citrus fruit. Taste is similar again seriously fruity very drinkable, but it was about 1/2 a day away from turning i recon.

Dark ruby ale, fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. A bit lightweight, but quite pleasant.

500ml bottle - pour was very dark for a porter, deep brown with some mahogany highlights, head was coffee colored and held up for about 20 minutes while i let the glass sit on the table. aroma was very appealing. lots of chocolate, and a sweetness that i couldnt nail down until i read the description and saw the "black cherry" and easily mated the smell to the fruit. nice thin body, exactly what i want in a porter. flavor is cold coffee with some sweet chocolate, hints of vanilla and licorice. a little hoppy on the tail, but nothing detracting, and the coffee makes a renewed statement in the aftertasete.

Bottle. Deep ruby red-brown (almost black), thin shortlived beige head and gentle condition. Spicy coffee, sweet liquorice and some smoky roastiness in the nose, thin and earthy bitterness in the mouth with some roasted barley and a touch of coffee, harsh dry roasted bitterness in the finish with a slightly buttery edge.

Bottle-conditioned. Dark brown with thin beige head. Aroma is roast malt with hints of caramel. Gentle carbonation and a toasted, roasty flavour, edged with tart raspberries.

Black/brown with a huge, creamy head. The aroma is slightly sour with notes of roasted malt. The flavour also has the sourness and the roasted malt notes plus notes of dark chocolate and coffee, that is very nice in the long finish. It’s a mild and nice porter.

Bottle from Utobeer. Bottleconditioned. Dark brown-tinged body under a thin brownish head. Roasted smell. Dark chocolate and mild coffee with a touch of cocoa flavour. Thin to medium palate (shared with Magne and CinnamonGirl, 03.02.2007).
