Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark with a decent size tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roast. The flavor is slight dark fruit, faint roast and chocolate, slight presence of hops, this brew had a thin mouthfeel.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Colour is dark brown with ruby hints, small off-white head. Nose is roasted with notes of berries (blackberries, cherries), chocolate, black coffee and notes of citrussy hops. Taste is roasted with chocolate, coffee, liquorice, blackcurrant and crowberries. Some citrussy hops in the finish. Fairly dry, medium body, actually leaning slightly towards the thin side. Very nice and tasty porter.

(500 ml bottle from Belfast Co-op) Pours dark, but not that dark, brown with about 1" of fairly creamy biege head. Aroma of fairly mild coffee and chocolate as well as mild hops. Mouthfeel full, smooth, creamy. Sloppy spots of lacing. Flavor of coffee and chocolate, but pretty mild. A bit stronger on the coffee. Medium bitter. Has a bit of grassiness as well. Sweet/sour quality I often find in British stouts/porters also there, but mildly so. OK porter but overall flavor not really to my liking.

500 ml bottle, via Secret Santa PhillyBeer2112. Pours a clear dark brown with a small creamy light brown head. Not much in the way of visible carbonation. Aroma is very chocolaty and dry with a light roasted barley note. Flavor is very chocolaty with a light dry chalkiness and a bit of roast. Finish is dry and lightly bitter. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. I thought that this was a great English-style Porter. Really surprised at the relatively low overall rating. I think that this is really worth seeking out.

Dark brown pour with 2-finger head. Aroma of roasty malt, molasses, some fruit and chocoff. The flavor is malty and chocoffy, on the dry side, with some fruit.
