Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Pours a dark black almost opaque. Thick tan bubbly head. Aroma is a little weak but flavors of choc and roasted espresso. Finishes malty and dry.

500ml. Bottle. Black body with a hard to pour head. All the characters are in there for a porter - chocolate, coffee and a little liquorice but just a little watery for my liking.

Cask at Birreria Paradiso in DC. Opaque choco black-brown color with a soapy non-head. Lacks any carbonation in the mouthfeel. Big, chocolate flavor. Thick, rich, and creamy. Very gentle on the palate. Excellent.

Cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 12th February 2009. Dark espresso appearance. Fruity aroma but not too sweet. Smooth, rather watery though. Nice flavours but they could be more pronounced.

Cask at Ginger Man. Aroma of cacao nibs, roasted/toasted malt, salty cashews. Flavor of milky raisins, red grapes, mildly acidic, some earthy hops. Thinnish mouthfeel. Interesting, but not terribly stellar.
