Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Black/dark brown. Billowing tan head is dense, bubbly, rocky. Chocoffee, roasty malt, subtle dark fruits-aroma. Same flavor with a touch of yeast, also- very nice. Medium body, dry finish, nice carbonation, roasty and bitter chocoffee aftertaste. Hops allow themselves to be known in taste and aroma as it warms.

Sweet nutty aroma. Poured with a large and lasting head. Moderate to heavy bitterness. Tastes kind of like burnt chocolate. Taste improved as it warmed.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body (almost black) with a tan frothy (rootbeer-float-like) head. Aroma of chocolate and camp-fire roasted marshmellows. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

Cask conditioned @Akkurat
Very dark ruby, creamy small cappuchino head. Sweetish coffee nose. Roasted, a bit sweet, licorice in the flavor. Watery but interesting session porter.

Biscuit and chocolate malt aromas are somewhat vegetal. Opaque brown-black with low, off-white head that diminishes slowly to ring. Sweet chocolate and roasty flavours are well-balanced. Medium-light body with lively carbonation. Cask at GBBF 2005.
