Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Pours a deep chocolate brown with a huge, tan wedding cake head and plenty of chunky lacing. Smells of tasty coffee, vanilla bean, and hints of chocolate/mocha. Rich and oily with plenty of dark malt and vanilla taste. A hint of berries late. A bit too flat - would’ve liked more carbonation. Very good overall - would definitely buy again.

1 pint 0.9 fl. oz. bottle. Deep mahogany pour with super-thick fluffy dark khaki head that leaves thick wads of lacing. Vanilla beans, chocolate malts, coffee and irish cream liqueur in the nose. I start to pick up the juicy blackberry aromas toward the bottom of the glass. Super-thick, rich and smooth body. Packed with roasty malts. Pretty dry and bitter hoppy finish. Starts off with chocolate and roasty coffee and finishes with some hops and some dark fruits. Hints of blackberries, cherries and raspberries in the finish. I believe this is the best porter I’ve ever had.

Cask Conditioned, gravity poured at Banbury Beer Festival ’05. Dark brown colour with malty head. Finally caught up with this one, dry bittering with roasted chocolate malts. A little too thin for me but I did get the fruits with a touch of Raspberry. Reasonable.

Headless after an aggressive pour, cola like in colour.Tastes of chocolate, coffee, toffee...quite easy drinking and not overly complex or challenging.

Rich dark brown color, tannish brown head. Fair amounts of cocoa and milk chocolate. Soma roast as well. A bit chalky of a body. Not bad.

Dark brown, almost black w/ creamy light brown foam. Sweet chocolaty aroma w/ notes of licorice, espresso, & black cherry. Full-bodied, moderately chewy feel. Sweet, roasty flavour of chocolate, espresso, & fruit (cherries).
