Very metallic aroma with a slightly sweet hint. The taste is very sweet and fruity. Begins with a metallic taste from the foam that becomes a sweet chocolate taste with a very odd coffee/malt finish. Didn’t really care for this one. jerohen (1614), Bussum, Netherlands

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2005 Weird commercial description: "As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that’s how the beer was named." I assumed it was named after a regular at the pub. Bottle conditioned - It pours a deep mahogany color with a tall, creamy tan head that leaves slug slime on the side of your glass as you imbibe. The aroma is rich, nutty malts and chocolate with hints of dark, juicy fruit. It a bit on the light-bodied side, but delivers a rich taste of toffee and nuts and fruits. The chocolate returns for the creamy finish. Nice drink, except for the slimy trail... mkobes (2104), paramus, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2005 Cellar Temp. Acrid coffee aroma. Not opaque, but a dark, dark ruby. Vinous flavors with almost a grape juice background. Finishes with… pepper! WTF! It comes from out of nowhere! Slightly watery but strangely flavorful. Fun beer. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
