Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

[500 ml. bottle] Dark black pour with a huge tan head. Very metallic aroma with a slightly sweet hint. The taste is very sweet and fruity. Begins with a metallic taste from the foam that becomes a sweet chocolate taste with a very odd coffee/malt finish. Didn’t really care for this one.

Dark brown coloured, small brown head. Aoma and flavour of roasted malts, not very complex. Very bitter finish. Could use some more body.

Weird commercial description: "As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that’s how the beer was named." I assumed it was named after a regular at the pub. Bottle conditioned - It pours a deep mahogany color with a tall, creamy tan head that leaves slug slime on the side of your glass as you imbibe. The aroma is rich, nutty malts and chocolate with hints of dark, juicy fruit. It a bit on the light-bodied side, but delivers a rich taste of toffee and nuts and fruits. The chocolate returns for the creamy finish. Nice drink, except for the slimy trail...

Bottle. Dark brown, tan head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Malty roasty, and slightly yeasty in flavor. May be slightly old. A little overcarbonated. Still decent. Reminds me of homebrew.

Cellar Temp. Acrid coffee aroma. Not opaque, but a dark, dark ruby. Vinous flavors with almost a grape juice background. Finishes with… pepper! WTF! It comes from out of nowhere! Slightly watery but strangely flavorful. Fun beer.

Bottle. Nose-very much chocolate and coffee. Almost all opaque body. No head, just a film of bubbles. Good base porter flavor, but a little thin. Notes of coffee, fig, grape, and lactics.
