Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

Black pour, moderate head, some lacing and retention. Aroma is chocolate, roast, darker fruits, caramel. Interesting, not a textbook porter here. Medium to light body, fairly dry finish. Nice.

Dark reddish brown with low but firm head. Somewhat earthy aroma. Flavour is roasted coffee and earthy hops. Long bitterness.

Nice dark black pour with an excellent medium pillowy beige head. Toasty malt aroma, very typical porter. Flavor is somewhat alkaline, a lot of burnt, smokey, maybe some black cherry. Chocolate finish. Palate is decent. Argo0 made a good point.. its like an understated stout.

Deep brown with a tight, foamy, khaki colored head. Aroma is pleasent. Intense cocoa, roasted notes, molasses. Body is a bit thin, but smooth. Tasty cocoa malts, some molasses, toasted malt, and some coffee. The dry finish has a little apple in it. Solid, but lacking a little compexity. Easy to drink, though.

Bottle. Nearly black with a ruby tint. Aroma of light hops, some coffee and chocolate. Creamy body with soft carbonation. Rich flavor, chewy toffee. Finishes a little fruity and sweet, but not sticky. This is a tasty porter.

Tried it at "The Regal" Cambridge beer festival from cask. Very dark amber/brown color with little head. Not much aroma. Taste was of coffee and maybe "leather". Little maltiness. Note a lot of body here. Nice dry bitter finish. Not a bad ale, just average.

Dark brown with tan head. Dry cocoa and roasted/coffee aroma with slight hint of dark fruits. Taste is similar, but even more mild than the aroma. Thin body, but soft mouthfeel. Gently dissappears leaving a dry finish.

A mahogany-tinged dark brown beer, hazy, with a sandy coloured compact head. Dark chocolate roast aroma, same on the palate with some coffee bean and clay and a hint of blackberry. Satisfying bitter finish. Delicious.
