doubelknv3 (559), Illinois, USA Nov 5, 2009 Yeast, lemon, bread, and pepermint aroma notes. Golden with thick forthy white head. Lemon and bready flavours. Full body with bitter dry finish. davegore (200), liverpool, Merseyside, England Oct 28, 2009 Pours a cloudy golden colour, nice frothy head which leaves lots of lacing all the way down the glass. Grassy aroma on the nose carried over and mixed with hoppy aroma in the mouth Beth101 (315), West Yorkshire, England Aug 24, 2009 Cloudy with a frothy head which disappears. Not much of an aroma but a hint of flowery hops. Tastes of bitter hops. floydian1 (255), FNQ, Australia Aug 9, 2009 Cask. A clear golden bitter with a decent white head providing good lacing. Nose of cereal malts and restrained floral/citric English hops. Taste is restrained sweet malts finishing with a fruity dry hop bitterness that became slightly peppery towards the end. Light-medium bodied with slick mouthfeel. Easily sessionable like all good English bitters. Decent. topherh (878), Kearney, Missouri, USA Jul 30, 2009 Bottle pours golden with a white head. Aroma is caramel malt, floral hop, and a sour fruitiness. Flavor is sweet malt, light grassy hop, and a dry fruity finish. theisti (1638), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jul 27, 2009 500 ml bottle purchased at Gomers in Lees Summit, Missouri. Pour is hazed yellow golden, with a billowing off white head (4 inches at least) that was quite lasting, eventually falling with thick lacing. The head falls with really interesting reverse cascading, almost like its building down to a full glass of beer - I was mesmerized. Aroma of caramel and honey malt, some spritzy lemon bitterness, some grass and hay, even some pickled ginger. There is also a hint of oxidation (there was no date on the bottle that I could locate). Taste is toasty malt, with some of the caramel and honey sweetness from the nose. This quickly turns to the grassy earthiness. The bitter, ginger taste from the nose is present, but mostly in the finish. As with the nose, the lingering finish has some cardboard oxidation. Really does not detract too much for me. Palate is medium, slightly chewy, almost entirely flat. Overall, interesting enough, I like the toasty chewiness to it. The hop bitterness is almost entirely gone, would be interesting to try this one in its true form. DuffMan (2719), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Jun 26, 2009 Bottle. Pours a very hazy bright gold with a huge white head that collapses into rocky flotsam and leaves big lacy rings. Very hoppy aroma, grassy, herbal, and citrus fruit. Biscuity pale malts provide the platform for a showcase of interesting hop chatacter: stemmy/grassy, prominent tangerine citrus peel, slightly perfumey, very bitter end. Very tasty, but a little more malt would make it something special. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Jun 8, 2009 Cask @ 3 Judges. Clear golden colour, white lacings. Aroma of citrus and biscuit. Flavour of biscuit malts. Slightly dry finish.
