Pale gold/straw colour, with a big where head. Massive, flowery, US-style hop aroma. Noticeably resinous. Citric and slightly sharp, with a clean, bitter finish. rather nice. 500ml bottle (bottle conditioned) from Richs Farmhouse Cider shop.

Bottled version. Nice straw, golden color with creamy white head. Aroma has malt and some fruitiness, but I was looking for some hops and didn’t find any. Medium body with nice clean taste and fairly bitter finish. Nice single malt bitter that I’m sure tastes infinitely better when fresh and when on cask.

Gusher 500mL bottle conditioned bottle. Aroma is hoppy with notes of toast and grains. The flavor has a little harsh bitterness and not much hop flavor. Finishes dry but quenching. A tangy yeasty finish and a bit boring but it hit the spot at the time.

Cask@Kingston Beer Festival. Pretty decent stuff. Hoppy, floral, citrusy nose, summery and dry, some butterscotch, quite decent.

Cask at The Ship Inn, Wincle, Cheshire. Great beer on a good day’s walking - blurred copper colour, evaporating head, little lacing, full hoppy impact with tangy citric flavour drops off to a satisfying bitter finish. Shame I still had seven miles to go else I could have happliy stayed here til closing time with more of the same.

Clouded coppery orange color, thin, compact foamy off-white head, some strings of lace stick. Aroma is faint of floral spiced hops and fruityness of mellons sit underneath, pleasantly toned and mild on the nose. Taste is very nice, good amount of grassy/floral hops with some slight mellon fruityness ties in a nice balance. Bitterness is there in good quantity for a bitter, mellow and inviting, nice length and fruity characteristics lingers nicely. Quite a nice taster. I nearly forgot it was a bitter, it came into an IPA quality of some English variants I’ve had so that impressed me. Solid medium body, creamy, good bittering hops and malty sweet backing; a fine drinker, really became easy to down as it warmed.

Even better than I remember it after all these years..... pale ale with loads of hops bursting out all over the place. Strongly bitter yet hoppy taste with some pear fruit and rich maltiness, and a bitter, malty finish. Very enjoyable. (Cask at Cornubia, Bristol)

On tap at the Blind Tiger Ale House, NYC - April 2004: Medium frothy head on the yellow brew. Light butterscotch, toffee nose and also taste. I’m not very fond of butterscotch taste.
