austone (998), Turku; Pori, Finland Jul 7, 2009 Cask at Old Bank, Turku. Hazy amber, staying coarse & foamy head. Mildly nutty aroma, little fresh apple, acidic sourish note, not really hops, pretty mild overall. Flavor has strong rotten fruitiness, old apples, little hazelnut, sourish, even funky notes. Some mussels and cheese in there too, along with pretty strong bitterness, though there’s no aroma hops found. Medium bodied, nearly flat palate, really lush. Old school bitter. mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland Jun 19, 2009 (Cask at St. Urho’s Pub, Helsinki, on 2009-06-16) Clear and golden. Medium sized, dense and white head. Malty aroma. Medium bodied and dry palate with low carbonation. Malts, bitterness, greasiness and grass in taste. Malty and bitter aftertaste. Good solid English bitter. Sweet malty aroma, with light fruits. Taste starts grainy/bready, but with a lovely bitter finish with no sharp edges. (5-3-8-3-13=3.2)

Cask (Pullman, Helsinki). Rich orange, healthy loose head. Grape and fruit aroma. Soft carbonation, refreshing palate. Plenty of retronasal esters. Slightly mushroomy taste, but plenty of barky bitterness without being muddy or dusty. Quite simple but very tasty. Finish quite bitter and quite long. downender (2528), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Apr 9, 2007 Cask conditioned at the Rising Sun, Frampton Cotterell, Gloucs 8/4/2007. Bronze best bitter with strong head. Fruit was to the forefront in both aroma and flavour, with a decent dry aftertaste. A pleasant enough beer. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway May 30, 2006 Cask at Rook & Gaskill York 5 May 06. Brown colour. A creamy white lasting head clinging to the glass. Very pretty. Fruity aroma. A nice bitter aftertaste - after a while. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England May 12, 2006 A Mes rate:
Ramsgate beer fest.
Fruity, malty sweet and drinkable but yet another bland and boring English bitter. DJMonarch (5966), Northwich, Cheshire, England May 7, 2006 Cask Stillage at the Ship & Mitre, Liverpool 21/04/2006
