Good solid English bitter. Sweet malty aroma, with light fruits. Taste starts grainy/bready, but with a lovely bitter finish with no sharp edges. (5-3-8-3-13=3.2)

Cask (Pullman, Helsinki). Rich orange, healthy loose head. Grape and fruit aroma. Soft carbonation, refreshing palate. Plenty of retronasal esters. Slightly mushroomy taste, but plenty of barky bitterness without being muddy or dusty. Quite simple but very tasty. Finish quite bitter and quite long. CampbellWilson (533), Scotland

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2009 Cask at Old Bank, Turku. Hazy amber, staying coarse & foamy head. Mildly nutty aroma, little fresh apple, acidic sourish note, not really hops, pretty mild overall. Flavor has strong rotten fruitiness, old apples, little hazelnut, sourish, even funky notes. Some mussels and cheese in there too, along with pretty strong bitterness, though there’s no aroma hops found. Medium bodied, nearly flat palate, really lush. Old school bitter.
