Bartender said it was a blend of devil’s backbone and lost gold. I doubt that but I do know it was an undrinkable mess. Flavors just didn’t taste good. I sent it back.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 17, 2009 It took a while for this to show up on RateBeer after the Anniversary party, and not knowing enough about the beer to add it, I didn’t, and since then I’ve lost my notes on it. So... that sucks. What I can say about it is that it was impressive. I wasn’t expecting a Belgian Strong ale for some reason, but it was well done. I think I enjoyed it more than any other beer at the Anniversary party... sorta. I mean, they did bring out the Devil’s Backbone. How can you compete with that? Hats off to you, Real Ale. We’re proud of you!!! Fratto (763), Arlington, Texas, USA

Pours a cloudy orange golden with a medium frothy white head that leaves decent spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is floral hops and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with a very hoppy taste with grapefruit and a nice dry finish. A good belgian strong ale from Real Ale.
