Commercial Description:
This light bodied blonde ale is perfectly balanced with a touch of Crystal hops for bittering and aromatics. Fireman's #4 is a great choice on any hot Texas summer day or pair it with spicy foods to help you put out the fire.

Pours pale gold with a big white head. Nose is malt and corn. Taste is bread, grass, fruit, and spice. The combination of flavors didn’t mix well for me on this one.

Tried this at Hotel ZaZa Dragonfly Lounge on a recent trip to Dallas. Pours a straw color with a thin white head. Aroma of light caramel and some biscuity malts . Taste includes lots of fruity notes, grasses, yeast and some light spice. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Nothing incredible but certainly drinkable.

Thanks Cavie. Pours a soft straw gold with a one finger frothy white head. Nose is sweet, malty, bready, lite honey, some hay. Flavor shows corn, wet hay, very mild metallic bitterness, some off flavors. Palate is mildly bitter and well carbonated.

Bottle: Pale gold color with light white head. The nose is lightly husky with some deeper toasty malt notes as well. Thin body and a lighter mouthfeel with more lightly bitter hops, metallic husky malts and a grassy finish.

Not much too special here. Tastes like PBR with a hint of lemon. Not very crisp. Passable.

12oz bottle from my brothers buddy Brent in Texas, thanks man. Rating #150. Gold/yellow pour with a white head. Very nice aroma, bready, malty and crisp. Flavor was the similar, lots of grain, malty and very drinkable, I could see myself drinking this on a regular basis if it was available. (1031)

Sample at the Texas Beer & Brats tasting 10/11/2009 (as both Alamo Golden and Firemans #4). The beer is a slightly hazy golden color with a thin white head that burns away quickly. Grainy malt in the nose as well as light grassy hops. Light body with mild hops and malt flavors (and some sweet fruit in the case of Alamo). The finish is clean and malty with notes of corn (and tropical fruit again with Alamo). Barely average in both cases.

Bottle shared by Dogbrick. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Creamy and grainy nose that has some hints of corn. Creamy and grainy malt flavor with some crisp hop at the end. Had this the same night as Alamo Golden Ale not knowing it was the same beer and was sort of surprised it was the same. While they were very similar, I got some subtle peach flavor out of the Alamo that I didn’t get out of the Fireman’s.
