Brewed in the traditional Belgian witbier style, but with an alcohol content of 6.8%, Limestone Wit packs a bit more punch. It contains 40% unmalted wheat and a touch of oats. Coriander and orange peel are added at the end of the boil, giving it a spicy aroma and a refreshing finish. ABV: 6.8% IBU: 10 OG(plato): 16.6

Medium sized white head, decent retention and lace. Lightly hazy with a yellow, light gold color. Nose is nice, Citrus, lightly bready malts, orangey and spicey, light bananna notes too boot. Light bodied, light oilyness and a prickly carbonation. Wheaty grainy flavors greet you with some nice spicey notes, coriander, citrus, slight vegetal notes, light doughyness. Clean, spicey, almost dry finish. A groovy Wit! Thanks to Mr. Fry for the bottle. YEEHAW!

12 oz bottle courtesy of Fly: “Prickly Wit” version brewed for the 2007 Brewer’s Association Craft Brewers Conference in Austin, TX. Poured golden yellow with a medium sized white head. Slight haze to it. Mild grain and floral hop aroma. Grain and hops seem to dominate the flavor. Light lemon and mild sweetness. Good.

Logan’s pre-GABF 2007 party (draught). Head is fully lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (cobwebs), with notes of lemon zest, coriander, banana. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Pretty darn tasty witbier.

On tap at Logan’s pre-GABF party. Has a really strong yeasty sulfur-like aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with a thick white head. Palate is very milky. Tastes of lemon and banana from the esters. Cloves as well. Hard to get past the sulfurous aroma, though.
