daniellerose7 (119), new york, New York, USA Jan 13, 2008 Well, I’m not the world’s biggest Pale Ale fan, but this isn’t nearly my favorite. Not bad, but also not memorable. It needs at least one distinct flavor I think. Overall though, a pretty good beer.
lithy (555), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jan 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to my neo-geo.com secret santa talks2wall. Thin white cover over a hazy caramel orange color, head doesn’t last. Light malt aroma. Taste is sort of old hops, noble hops, not the right hops for me in a pale ale. Citrus and caramel malt notes. ChainGangGuy (1808), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, amber body with a smallish, whitish head.
Smell: Nose of pale malts, grassy Saaz hops, and fine fruity notes.
Taste: Customary pale maltiness with a pinch of sugar sweetness. Pleasant fruitiness displaying flavors of apricot and even a bit of melon. Saaz hops bring a spicy taste of lemongrass as well as a mild, slight bitterness. Short, bittersweet, but crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A tasty, well-balanced, highly drinkable pale ale utilizing Saaz hops instead of the standard American hop profile. I can dig it. This one stands to lose much of its subtle charm due to lack of freshness, so, provided you can find a fresh sample, I rather recommend it. beerbill (1455), Laurel, New York, USA Jan 1, 2009 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with stopbarking. Pours a hazy orange tinted gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left partial lace. There is not much going on in the aroma department with this beer; some barely detectable malt and hops are about it. The flavor is light malt up front followed by some lightly fruity hops at the finish. Medium bitterness. Mediocre. RCL (1140), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Dec 29, 2008 Nice copper color, not so nice copper aroma. Rather metallic with hints of wonderbread, but some nice herbal hops in the background. Flavor is barely there. Watery with stale tasting malt and hops. Maverick34 (536), New York, USA Dec 28, 2008 Bottled. Pours orangey with a white head. The hops were mild and the malt was amped up. I liked it since I am not into the overhoppage.
