kidmartinek (731), austin, Texas, USA Feb 23, 2008 Dark black, medium head. Malty, chocolately aroma. Medium lacing. Light in the mouth for such a dark beer. Very, very refreshing for a porter, I didn,t detect the coffe in it, just the malt, and a very slight amunt of chocolate. ilovedarkbeer (754), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 26, 2008 On tap. Pours a nice dark brown color with amber lacing. Head is small and coffee colored with a pocked yeasty appearence. Smells of roasted malt, java, and chocolate. Taste is of nice mexican coffee and chocolate. This quite possibly is my favorite porter. Body is medium and the finish is long and warming. Honestly a great beer due to the perfect balance and hidden alcohol presance. Bravo. BeerBelcher (745), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 18, 2008 I had this on-tap at Ginger Man in Austin and thought it pretty good.
It was black and opaque with about 2cm of cream-colored head. Aroma was roasty at frist , with some coffee notes. Flavor was dry roasty with some coffee notes, but not a lot of depth. Mouthfeel was quite dry and good.
I would recommend this beer. I had it on-tap at the Ginger Man in Austin. mar (592), Dallas, Texas, USA Jan 12, 2008 on tap. black pour with a small off white head. lots of roasted malts on the nose. easy on the palate and it tastes just like coffee. ford9719 (361), Taji, Iraq Jan 5, 2008 On tap at The Ginger Man in Houston.
