Hoppy flavor and some alcohol bite. Crisp on the palate a good beer after a honest 8 hour day of work. FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 30, 2005 Deep amber with brown accents. Decent white head, little to no lingering. A powerful grapefruity hop aroma dominates, quite pleasing. A medium heavy body, relative to the style. The hop aromatics carry over into the flavor, with a pale malt character balances the citrus fairly well, particularly in terms of preventing a bitter astringency in the mouthfeel that I feel delineates pale ales from India pale ales. These aforementioned hop characteristics last in the finish. I like piney citrus hop flavors, so this was a winner for me. Not an extraorindary example of the style in a traditional sense though. Golden amber color under a robust off-white head. Aroma is sweet, citrus, malty. Medium bodied and smooth in the mouth. Flavor was clean and crisp and refreshing. Citrus/hop notes. Not bad at all. joshpiledean (227), Ames, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2005 Amber pour with a fluffy head, some floaties, good carbonation. Aroma of piney hops, some sweet malt, caramel. Good bitter punch, some sweetness, then a good bitter and lightly sour finish. Tingly on the tongue. Maybe a little thin on the body, but I’m not complaining. Hops really present themselves well here, very drinkable and enjoyable. sloth (1677), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

Fruity nose, lightly citrusy with some caramel malt notes also. Med/light body. Balanced to the malty side. Caramel with a nice breadyness. Subdued hoppiness, lightly piney, largely citrusy. Finish is dry, fruity. Thanks Cliff! meathookjones (245), Sterling, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2004 Had this in a 22oz bomber with a picture of the Grim Reaper on the label. This pours a hazy orange color with a large dirty white foam head that has excellent retention. Leaves a decent streaky lacing about the glass as well. The aroma is of a slight malt and a fairly dominate citrus hop, the smell got stronger as this warmed. This is definitely a hopped up PA as the citrus piney hops dominate most of the flavor with a very slight malt sweetness of balance this one out. A biting bitter after taste is present as well that is pleasant and leaves a hoppy flavor lingering about for a while. Mouthfeel is light to medium with decent carbonation. A pretty darn good Pale Ale overall that I would definitely have again. giarcsr (103), Carlsbad, California, USA

Good light amber color with a nice malty-hop taste to it. Pretty solid for a pale ale jah noth (1017), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 12, 2004 Nice bone dry cascade type hop aroma. Deep orange amber in color, cloudy with the final pour. Nice rocky head. Citric flavors dominate, light body but pleasant on the tongue. Little malt to back up this hoppy pale. Reidual citric finish.
