The light color leads way to a deceptively strong flavor. It’s like a malt liquor, but a good one. If that makes any sense. jarspag (597), Los Angeles, California, USA

A weird beer. Seriously - looked just like a pale golden beer. (Bud light?) --- but has some bite to it. The flavor wasn’t all that great, some peach, candi sugar, apricot, sort of a belgian yeast type thing goin on...kind of a boring beer. Very easy to drink, prob its best quality. 5000 (2409), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Bottle: Pale golden, quite hazy, moderate foamy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Nose is somewhat a cross between cereal, musty
hops, and barnish malts.   Also seems to be a little diacytl in there.   Pale citrusy hop notes up front, slightly buttery, a little
chewy.   Decent... but certainly not what I would have thought for a Strong Ale.   Its a lighter example.   Moderate body and
mouthfeel, seems thicker when it was a bit colder actually.   Semi-sweet malt finish, very minor butterscotch, soft citrus notes.
Not bad, decent, but not a lot of character either.   Thanks Bill for the bottle!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2007 22 oz bottle thank to T-Bot, poured into a Trappist glass. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a white head. Aroma of Belgian candy sugar and a slight hint of peach. Flavor is more Belgian yeast and candy sugar, a bit of an appley peach taste, and a small taste of piney hops near the finish. A good brew that is not too overally interesting, but very drinkable. Sweet, grainy malty aroma has a touch of earthy piny hops. Body starts with a sugary, slightly corny, earthy maltiness toward a drier bittersweet finish. Could use some more complexity, but otherwise drinkable. pineypower (1095), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 19, 2007 Humm...forgot who I got this from. Anyway it pours out a mostly clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of some sweet malt notes and slight hop. Taste isn’t overly complex. Caramel, slight fruit and honey fade into a bitter citrus hop finish. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Slightly cloudy golden amber with a half-inch white head. Yeasty aroma, sweet malt and biscuits. Maybe a touch of corn and apricots. Flavor is bitter hops over sweet malt, an almost vinous alcohol presence. Not bad at all. hopscotch (5482), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 21, 2006 Bottle... Barely hazy, light golden ale with a large, fluffy, white head. Terrific retention. The nose is a medley of biscuit, toffee, oak, pepper and maybe a touch of bourbon. Medium sweet flavor is hopped just enough to knock the sweetness back a notch, keeping it pleasant and non-cloying. Full-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Crisp, bittersweet finish. Thanks go out to FlacoAlto for providing the bottle!
