Commercial Description:
While the style of this Strong Blonde Ale is non-specific it has an overall profile that closely resembles a Blonde Bock by having some characteristic traits of a Pre-Prohibition Pilsner and the strength of a Malt Liquor. The unique traits of this beer are the pleasingly fruity aromas of apricot and passion fruit that give way to honey flavors, a subtle hint of corn liquor, and a lightly spicy but cleansing hop finish. What is Inevitable about this ale is that the deceptively higher alcohol content (7.1% ABV) is sure to affect its imbiber. Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Green Flash tasting @ RFD’s: Pours to a clear yellow-straw colored body with a small white head. The aroma is white grapes, light pilsner malts, somehat vinous in scent, apples, bread, and herbal hops. Taste is sweet and malt up front, then opens to reveal honey, peaches, apricot, allspice, and become even more fruity as it warms.

A good session beer for the hophead. I like barleywines and imperial ipa’s, but need to have a couple lighter beers in between. This is seemingly a great pale ale with a little xtra punch. I really like the balance.

Poured a hazy light amber color with a small off-white head. Malty aroma with earthy and piney hops. Hints of mint were mixed in. The flavor started with malt. The hops started to grow in the middle. There was a light tartness on the finish. Sweet warming finish. Didn’t seem to have a hop bitterness in the end.

Pours orange with a small head. Light esters in the aroma, some leafy hops. Taste is earthy, german hops. Light spiciness, hints of citrus. Finish is long, mild bitterness, slighly grainy. Medium body, a little oily.

Bottle. Seemed more like an Alt or Bock... Amber beer with a nice whitish head. Fruity, grainy aroma. Fruity (mostly berry) with some earthiness and caramel malt. Medium bodied. Slight lingering metallic note. Easy to drink.

Heemer77 shared this one at a small tasting. I guess American Strong Ales can be all over the place and this one definitely was. Honey yellow color. Some sweet flavors, but I noticed a weird sourish taste the most. This one was different

Thanks for bringing this one home, Sarah. The body was dark gold with a white colored head. The aroma was bready with pears and some cinnamon. There was a bit of funk. The taste was spicy cinnamon with dried prunes and some old leather. This was interesting.

thanks to heemer77 for sharing this at my backyard tasting. never would have guessed this to be in the Amer. Strong Ale category?! yellow gold in appearance with aroma and flavors of some grass, lemon zest and candy sweetness. unusual to say the least.
