Commercial Description:
Nearly solid black in color, this is a full-flavored complex brew of roasted barley, sugar and a hint of honey. Once poured, the smoky aroma melds nicely with the creamy head for a beer drinking experience not for the timid. Brewed at Sudwerk for ReaperAle.

Bomber. Pours near black with a large, light brown head. The head diminished quite rapidly, with spare lacing. Aroma is burnt dark malts and coffee. Creamy texture, medium body, soft carbonation. A little bitter hops in there towards the finish. Flavor is moderately sweet.

Twenty-two ounce bottle. Poured a completely opaque black with a large dark tan head. I mean, I literally held it right up to a lamp and no light came through at all. It looked like the perfect beer for me. It had a semi-sweet chocolate and coffee aroma. Pretty much the same in flavor with a touch of vanilla and a slightly salty aftertaste. Very rich. It moved past the tongue and down the throat easily. It was somewhat sticky and just a little dry on the tongue. Just about a perfect beer. It was incredible.

Shared by Nolankowal. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Black in appearance with a light brown head. The palate is medium to full. The taste is a good bit of roasted malt with some tangy flavor in your cheeks. Lots of bitter roasted coffee tastes.

Has a little coffe aroma, not much head. Pretty heavy, with definite roasty notes and coffee tinges. Okay, but one 22-oz bottle is just too much. Plus, if left out too long, it goes real real bad.

I guess to say that this beer was a bit thin would be the worst thing I found wrong with it. I really did enjoy the beer, with it’s roasted malt, coffee and chocolate nose. The taste was enjoyable with the roast character playing the loudest tune, but I could also get some roasted nuts, chocolate and carmael in there too. Nice head when poured too. I will get this again.

Pours oily black with a tan head. Nice aroma of coffee, chocolate, toasted malts and a bit of dark fruit. Flavor was roasty with coffee, chocolate and some more tinges of dark fruit. Solid body overall with a roasty/smokey-clean finish.

(07.10.06) One pint, 6 oz brown bottle from Liquorama. 7.5% ABV. Roasted coffee aroma. Poured opaque black with giant creamy off-white head. Soft carbonation. Medium bodied stout that starts dryish with roasted expresso and milk chocolate flavors. dry finish with light bitterness and expresso fade. Like creamy milk chocolate. Delicious, smooth and well-balanced. An enjoyable stout.

Bottle thanks to nolankowal: Black with a tan head. Aroma, rich chocolate, and molassas, roasty notes. Flavor, chocolate some bitterness, some coffee in there as well. Pretty decent.
